Strengthening the Coffee Ecosystem through Strategic Collaboration

Jakarta - Coffee Development & Education Foundation (KAPPI) formalized a strategic collaboration with Bank Indonesia (BI) during Karya Kreatif Indonesia (KKI) 2026 at the Jakarta Convention Center. The collaboration reflects a shared commitment to strengthening Indonesia’s coffee ecosystem, from capacity building in the upstream sector and supporting the economic empowerment of farming families to expanding export market access for BI-supported coffee MSMEs.

Through this collaboration, KAPPI, together with its strategic partner PT Sumber Kurnia Alam (PT SKA), is supporting BI-supported coffee MSMEs across various coffee-producing regions. The support includes strengthening product quality standards, ensuring supply consistency, and conducting a rigorous curation process to prepare local coffee entrepreneurs to enter international markets.

The collaboration is part of an effort to connect capacity building with market opportunities. This approach is expected to strengthen linkages among stakeholders across the coffee ecosystem while supporting sustainable business development.

Connecting Coffee MSMEs with Export Markets

The formalization of the KAPPI-BI strategic collaboration was also accompanied by a Business Matching session held on 21-22 August 2026. During the session, KAPPI and PT SKA connected selected BI-supported coffee MSMEs with global industry players. The event created opportunities for local coffee businesses to connect with international markets.

“The formalization of this collaboration at KKI 2026 marks an important foundation for multiplying its economic impact. The goals are clear and measurable: improving product quality, expanding export reach, and ensuring that the economic benefits are felt directly by farmers and the regions where the coffee originates,” said Roby Wibisono, representing KAPPI.

Through its collaboration with Bank Indonesia and various strategic partners, KAPPI continues to support the development of Indonesia’s coffee sector by strengthening the capacity of businesses across the coffee ecosystem and building connections that can support the development of coffee from the upstream sector to the global market.
