One Space, Full of Nusantara Coffee Stories
KAPPI took part in MoreFood Expo 2026, an international food and beverage trade exhibition held on May 7-10, 2026, at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta. Through its interactive booth, KAPPI invited visitors to explore the diversity of Indonesian coffee through a showcase of single origin coffees, distinctive flavor profiles, and origin stories from across the Nusantara.
Mantra of Kahwa: Where Coffee Meets Culture
One of the highlights of KAPPI’s participation at MoreFood Expo 2026 was the screening of the documentary Mantra of Kahwa on May 9, 2026. Directed by Budi Kurniawan, the film presented Indonesian coffee through stories, culture, and the lives of the communities behind it.
The documentary portrayed Sumatran coffee not merely as a commodity, but as a part of identity, daily life, and local traditions. Through a contemplative visual approach, Mantra of Kahwa captured how coffee grows alongside values, traditions, and the relationship between people and nature passed down across generations.
Through the screening, KAPPI aimed to open conversations about the importance of storytelling and cultural values as defining strengths of Indonesian coffee in the broader global market. The initiative also reflected KAPPI’s efforts to introduce coffee not only through its quality, but also through the stories and cultural heritage that shape it.
Brewing Collaboration in the Coffee Industry
Beyond the interactive booth and documentary screening, KAPPI’s presence at MoreFood Expo also created opportunities to connect with industry players, communities, and stakeholders who share an interest in the growth of Indonesian coffee.
Through this momentum, KAPPI hopes to encourage broader cross-sector collaborations so Indonesian coffee can be more widely recognized and appreciated not only for its quality, but also for the stories, origins, and cultural heritage behind it.
