Creating a Learning Space for Women in the Community
Lampung - A total of 43 members from four Women Farmers’ Group (KWT) in Air Naningan, Tanggamus Regency, Lampung, took part in a two-day training held on 1-2 September 2026 at the Air Naningan Village Hall. The activity brought together members of KWT Lestari Rahayu, KWT Sehati, KWT Shinyuu, and KWT Srikandi.
Supported by PT Sumber Kurnia Alam (PT SKA), the training gave participants an opportunity to learn and develop skills that could be applied within their groups and business activities. Throughout the activity, participants were encouraged to see the materials and potential around them as resources that could be transformed into value-added products.
Turning Local Resources into Value-Added Products
During the food processing session, participants practiced making a range of dishes, from savory to sweet, including Thai-style wrapped fried rice, mini pizzas, and nagasari bihun, a Indonesian traditional steamed snack. They also experimented with coffee-based creations, such as cappuccino jelly drinks and es mie bakso, an iced jelly creation designed to resemble noodles and meatballs.
Meanwhile, the ecoprint session introduced participants to the use of leaves and flowers found in their surroundings to create natural patterns on fabric. During the training, participants applied the technique to tote bags using a variety of plants, including papaya leaves, coffee leaves and flowers, and bougainvillea leaves and flowers.
Expanding Marketing Opportunities through Digital Technology
To help participants market their products in today’s increasingly digital environment, the training also featured a digital marketing session. Participants were introduced to product photography techniques, AI tools, editing applications, and ways to create UMKM product labels in line with the applicable standards and requirements set by Badan Pengawas Obat dan Makanan (BPOM), Indonesia’s National Agency of Drug and Food Control.
Through the knowledge and hands-on practice gained during the session, participants were encouraged to become more confident in using technology to support their business activities and explore new ways to market their products.
Empowering Women to Keep Growing
One participant shared that the knowledge gained during the training would be valuable knowledge to bring back and apply within her group.
"The knowledge we gained from this training is invaluable, and we will bring it back and put it into practice in our respective groups,” said Maria Suwarni of KWT Srikandi.
Through the training, KAPPI hopes that KWT members will continue to develop their creativity, skills, and confidence to turn the potential around them into business opportunities. More than just a training program, the activity reflects KAPPI’s ongoing commitment to giving women opportunities to learn, share, and grow together within their communities.
The training organized by KAPPI for the Women Farmers Group (KWT) in Wonosobo equipped participants with food processing skills, the utilization of coffee as a value-added product, and digital marketing strategies to open up business opportunities based on local potential.
